Current practices of studying multimedia technologies in the process of the training of IT specialists

The article analyzes the actual practices of studying multimedia technologies in the training of specialists in the field of IT and those related to it. Modern software tools for creating a multimedia product are considered, namely programs for preparing text, graphic information, programs for editing electronic publications and their capabilities for creating interactive content, software tools for processing and creating animation, sound and video. File formats that are supported by modern software and are relevant and modern today are also considered. The paper presents the results of a study of the need to use current practices when studying applied software for the design of electronic publications using modern multimedia technologies, the need to update lecture materials and tasks for practical and laboratory work with the appearance of the latest versions of licensed software is proven, the effectiveness of such approaches in preparation is analyzed specialists of the IT industry and related industries and economy. The research was carried out on the example of studying the disciplines “Computer graphics and multimedia”, “Multimedia technologies of reproduction of rare editions” of the bachelor’s level of higher education at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechniс Institute” and the National Aviation University. In order to investigate the necessity of introducing modern multimedia technologies for the design of multimedia publications, a survey of education seekers was carried out both orally and using the technologies of the Mentimeter platform.
